It is important that you pay your rent by the due date, which is the 4th of each month. Follow the instructions below if you are having problems paying your rent.

If you pay your rent invoice after its due date
- The due date for payment of rent is always the 4th day of the month or the following weekday if the due date falls on a public holiday or weekend. If you pay your rent late, you must pay interest on late payment.
- We invoice interest on late payments four times a year. We will send an invoice for late payment interest when the interest has accrued at least five (5) euros. If interest accrues but the amount is less than five (5) euros, we will only charge the interest once it has exceeded the limit of five (5) euros.
- The amount of interest payable for late payment is based on the Interest Act. The Bank of Finland confirms the interest on late payment every six months. You can check the current interest for late payment in a table on the Bank of Finland website (in Finnish).
- You must pay interest on late payment until the date on which your rent has been paid in full. The practice is based on section 5 of the Interest Act.
If you don't pay your rent
- If you have not paid your rent and haven’t made a payment agreement, we will send you a payment reminder.
- If you receive a payment reminder and still do not pay your rent, we can collect the rent through the district court.
- If you repeatedly fail to pay your rent, you could lose your home.
