If the rent is not paid

Pay your rent on time to avoid extra charges. If the rent is unpaid or you’re having difficulty paying it, you will find instructions on what to do on this page. Don’t face the problem alone. Espoon Asunnot’s housing counsellors and rent controllers can assist you if you are having difficulties paying your rent or need guidance on applying for Kela benefits.

It is important that you pay your rent by the due date, which is the 4th of each month. Follow the instructions below if you are having problems paying your rent.

Do not leave your rent unpaid

If you don't pay your rent

If you have not paid your rent and haven’t made a payment agreement, we will send you a payment reminder.

Your bill will accrue interest until the rent is paid in full. The interest rate is determined by the Interest Act.

If you receive a payment reminder and still do not pay your rent, we can collect the rent through the district court.

If you repeatedly fail to pay your rent, you could lose your home.
