The grilling season is heating up

Summer brings delicious smells and shared moments around the grill. In addition to preparing food, a smart griller also pays attention to grill maintenance and safety. The person who grills is also responsible for making sure that grilling does not disturb the neighbours.

Where is grilling allowed?

According to the current guidelines:

  • In apartments yards, you can use electric or gas grills.
  • On balconies, you can use electric grills only.

Many of our apartment buildings have a grill shelter, which all residents may use. In addition, some properties have a shared grill, which residents can borrow from the residents’ committee.

Tips for safe grilling

By paying attention to safety, you can avoid dangerous situations and enjoy grilling and grilled food with peace of mind.

  • Make sure your grill is cleaned and properly maintained. Grease and food leftovers in the bottom of the grill increase the risk of grease fires.
  • Never leave a grill on without supervision.
  • Keep fire safety equipment nearby, such as a fire blanket or a handheld fire extinguisher.
  • Place the grill at a safe distance from walls and windows. Gas grills must be placed at least four meters away from the building and other structures.
  • Make sure that smoke or fumes do not enter the building’s ventilation system.
  • Check gas grill connections regularly to make sure gas is not leaking.
  • Do not store gas bottles or other flammable materials in the building’s storage areas.

When you take care of your grill, follow safety instructions, and respect your neighbours, you help make sure that summer grilling moments are relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.

Have a happy and safe grilling season!
