Save Water! Even one bucket of water makes a difference

Our campaign to reduce water consumption starts on 1 October. During the campaign, you can enter the Vesiteko prize draw with your own water-saving tip, help your building succeed in our water-saving competition, and take part in an online lecture about water (in Finnish).

We encourage residents to pay attention to how much water they use. Small everyday actions can significantly reduce water use. Most water is used for showering, washing hands and dishes, and doing laundry.

Competition between properties

We will monitor the water consumption of our properties throughout the campaign, from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. At the end of the campaign, the property that has reduced its water consumption the most will receive €500 for shared resident activities.

Share your water action and enter the prize draw

Do you have a good way to save water at home? Send us your water-saving tip and enter the prize draw. Every month, we will draw a €50 S Group gift card from among everyone who has sent us a tip.

Read the competition and prize draw rules and share your water-saving tip.

Online lecture on water at home

Together with Helsinki Region Environmental Services HSY, we are organising an online lecture in Finnish called “Kodin vesiasiat – ota viemärietiketti haltuun ja käytä vettä järkevästi” on Wednesday 28 October at 17:00. The lecture will be held on Microsoft Teams. Topics include sewer etiquette, harmful substances that end up in wastewater, and using water wisely at home.

In 2025, our residential properties used approximately 1.72 million cubic metres of water. This is an average of 146.5 litres per resident per day, which is almost 15 ten-litre buckets of water per resident every day.

What is Espoon Asunnot doing to reduce water consumption?

As part of our sustainability programme and environmental goals, our aim is to reduce the relative water consumption of our properties every year. Residents' habits have the biggest impact on water consumption. We also support this goal by installing water-efficient fixtures, limiting water flow rates and introducing water billing based on each apartment's own consumption in more of our properties.
