Notice period and the ending date of the lease agreement
When the lease is terminated entirely:
- If you submit the termination between the first and the fifteenth day of the month, your agreement can be terminated on the fifteenth day of the following month at the earliest.
- If you submit the form after the fifteenth day of the month, the lease agreement will be terminated on the last day of the following month at the earliest.
You can also terminate the lease agreement to a later date. You can choose the end date of the lease agreement according to the minimum notice periods from the online form.
When one of the jointly liable tenants will remain living in the apartment:
When terminating the lease only on your part and the other jointly liable tenant will remain living in the apartment, the lease will end on the last day of the month. The term of notice is one calendar month starting from the last day of the month during which the notice of termination is submitted. E.g. the rental agreement is terminated on 10 June, the period of notice starts on the last day of June and the rental agreement ends on 31 July.
You can also terminate the lease agreement to a later date. However, the termination date must be the last day of the month.
When terminating the lease only on your part, the lease will remain in the name of the jointly liable tenant.
Any deposit will remain as the deposit of the tenant that stays in the apartment. After the joint liability agreement ends, we recommend that the party staying in the apartment visits the maintenance company to claim all keys to the apartment.
